As global and national focus on gender equality and women’s economic contributions grows, the demand for reliable, timely, and meaningful gender statistics has never been greater. To address this need, the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS) compiles and disseminates sex-disaggregated data required to adequately reflect differences and inequalities in the situation of women and men across all areas of life, while effectively capturing gender-specific roles, questions, and societal concerns.

This webpage brings together statistics from DCS censuses & surveys, and key administrative records from government and semi-government agencies to provide a comprehensive look at the situation of women and men. Further, four historic landmark gender publications of the DCS—from 1995, 1997, 2007, and 2014—that catered to the gender data needs of policymakers, researchers, and the public for over three decades, have been included in this repository.
