Report on “The Status of Sustainable Development Goals Indicators in Sri Lanka: 2017” DCS published a Report to present the status of SDG Indicators in Sri Lanka. This Report provides a brief overview on SDGs, list of SDGs, and list of SDG targets and indicators for 17 SDGs, and lists of Indicators, disregarding disaggregation levels, or proxy indicators and particulars relating to the data availability on those Indicators. Report on “The Status of Sustainable Development Goals Indicators in Sri Lanka: 2017” also provides baseline data compiled by the DCS through ongoing censuses and surveys of the DCS and administrative records, and data compiled by some Statistical Units of DCS established at other institutions of the National Statistical System (NSS) of Sri Lanka.
This Report includes 12 Chapters providing status of SDG in Sri Lanka by respective SDG—except for goals 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17 for which data cannot be compiled by the DCS. A brief overview is provided for each chapter (each goal) indicating number of targets and indicators under the each of the SDG relevant to Sri Lanka, and status of compiling data for SDG indicators by the DCS. First sub section of each chapter provides SDG Targets, Indicators, and baseline data already available through ongoing surveys, censuses, and administrative records. Second subsection provides details of indicators for which data are to be compiled by adding new modules into ongoing censuses, survey, or new surveys.
Details on Targets and Indicators relevant for regional and global level and SDG Targets and Indicators, which are not relevant to Sri Lanka, are also provided in this Report. Annexes of “The Status of Sustainable Development Goals Indicators in Sri Lanka: 2017” report contains DCS classification of SDG indicators, and Global Tier System, and, Baseline data (unit, value, year), DCS classification, Source Agency and frequency of updating data by goal, target, indicator and disaggregate level for each SDG.
