  Income Receiver's Income

Household income is made of income received by all the individuals living in the household including boarders and servants etc. The income is sourced from earnings, profits, properties, fund transfers and income in-kind. The the income in-kind is the estimated values of goods and services received by the members of the household.

Income received by each person from all the sources are recorded against the name of the member in the relevant section based on income source of the survey schedule at the time of interview and S/he is identifies as an Income Receiver. Using these income values, the total monthly incomes were calculated for each income receiving person.

However according to the definitions of HIES 2002 if the person is less than 10 years old or his or her total monthly income is less than Rs. 100, then he or she is not considered as an income receiver  and such incomes are added to the income of the head of the household.
