Household income
is made of income received by all the individuals living in the household including
boarders and servants etc. The income is sourced from earnings, profits,
properties, fund transfers and income in-kind. The the income in-kind is
the estimated values of goods and services received by the members of
the household.
Income received
by each person from all the sources are recorded against the name of the
member in the relevant section based on income source of the survey
schedule at the time of interview and S/he is identifies as an Income Receiver. Using these income values, the total monthly incomes were
calculated for each income receiving person.
However
according to the definitions of HIES 2002 if the
person is less than 10 years old or his or her total monthly income is
less than Rs. 100, then he or she is not considered as an income receiver
and such incomes are added to
the income of the head of the household.
