The main source of education statistics is the annual school census carried out by the Statistics branch of the Ministry of Education. This census has been carried out continuously for about five decades. It covers the schools (all government (national and provincial schools), government assisted private schools, government assisted special schools and piriven) in the country and collects information on school profile, teachers and principals, students etc.,
